“FRAGILITY” is a performative concert for percussion, sound objects, prepared piano, voices and electronics - a reflection on the fragility of being and its omnipresence: the fragility of the physical and the symbolic, the fragility of the human soul.
The musicians Dariya and Malika have prepared a wide range of instruments consisting of unusual instruments and sound objects: prepared pianos, toy pianos, prepared vibraphones, percussion instruments, Tibetan bowls, bells and small percussion instruments, as well as voices and electronics. The metal objects found on the scrap yard are of particular interest.
The central work of the concert will be Dariya Maminova's piece ‘Fragility’. As the relationship between music and gesture plays an important role in the concert, the MAMI NOVA Project has turned to the composer Marina Poleukhina, who works in the genre of new music theatre and whose focus is on interdisciplinary work.
Marina has created a new composition/performance especially for the programme.
